Regular Board of Directors Meeting

*Each Board of Directors Meeting shall be simultaneously held in multiple locations to best accommodate our parents & the community.  The Board shall establish access to local physical meeting sites via CMT (Communications Media Technology) at each of the individual school campuses throughout Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, and Duval Counties to allow greater public participation.  Members of the public who wish to attend a meeting at an individual school campus / established local physical meeting access site will be provided the opportunity to participate in the meeting via CMT and shall receive all meeting information and the opportunity to provide input regarding the charter school’s operations.  

Somerset Academy, Inc., a non-profit organization, will comply with chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes, relating to public records, and s. 286.011, relating to public meetings and records, public inspection, and penalties the Florida Statutes relating to public records and public meetings.

For special equipment (chair lifts, special wheel chairs, etc.) or other special assistance, such as a sign language interpreter or meeting materials, the request for assistance must be made at least five (5) days in advance.
In the event that a meeting date must be changed, a notice will be posted at no less than 24 hours prior to the meeting.  

Members of the public that wish to address the Board will have a maximum amount of time (3 minutes) to speak at the public comment portion of the meeting.  The Board may or may not address the presenter or take action at this time.  Limited time is established for the public comment portion of meetings, and all those wishing to speak may not be able to within such allotted time.  To be scheduled to speak before the charter school board, a “Board Speaker Form” should be submitted no later than 5 business  / school days preceding the meeting date to:
